Walter
Stewart is a California native who earned a doctorate from UCLA
in Germanic Philology and Linguistics. He teaches in several disciplines
at a private university including German, Philosophy, International
Studies, Egyptology, and Film Studies and gives lectures in Quantum
Mechanics.
In addition to his academic
activities, he specializes in the life and works of the philosopher
Nietzsche about whom he has written both a scholarly study as well
his novel, Zarathustra. Stewart also has been a scriptwriter for
the last ten years.
He has written, executive produced,
and directed the film Sweet Deadly Dreams (see www.sweetdeadlydreams.com).
It is a film-noir thriller that was shot in and around the Los Angeles
area. The cast includes John Ashton, Kaarina Aufranc, Roscoe Lee
Browne, Bill Cobbs, Andre Gower, Steven Man, Rickey Medlocke, Terry
Moore, J.A. Preston, Quinn Redeker, and Joe Toppe. This endeavor
is the result his scriptwriting experience and of many years of
teaching concerning Film Noir, film production, directing, and criticism.
